IMPULSE IMPORTS LTD is a New Zealand owned and operated business. We are owned by Kiwis and strive to provide the best service possible for our fellow Kiwis. In order to provide the best service, we have outlined the following terms and services so you can familiarise yourself with how our business operates.
Impulse Imports is located in Chrsitchurch, Canterbury. All of our in-stock items are warehoused, stored and shipped to you from the South Island. We are a small business and strive to give you better service than the big guys.
Occasionally, you may see certain terms on our site. This section will describe in more detail what we mean when we say:
Some Assembly Required
Item ships with assembly required. For example, a table may require the legs to be attached, or a bench may require reinforcement screws inserted. In this case, all parts necessary to complete the assembly will be included, however additional tools such as Phillips head screw drivers may be needed. The vast majority of products on are site are shipped fully assembled.
Rustic means an item that is intentionally built to appear aged, weathered or antique. This may include the process of distressing the paint. Items described as rustic may include scratches, scuffs and scrapes, intentional wear and tear, holes, cracks and other features in order to add character. In cases where these features define the piece, we have done our best to include photographs.
Distressed paint is a process that gives a weathered appearance.
A factory 2nd is an item that arrived to us with unintentional cosmetic wear/tear from the manufacture or shipping process. The item is generally fully functional unless otherwise noted. As a result, we often sell these items well below our suggested retail cost. Items described as 2nds may have cracks, scuffs and scratches that are deep, stains or other defects. If an item interests you and it has this description, please do not hesitate to ask for further information and pictures.
Shop Demo / Floor Model
Since many of our items are one-of-a-kind pieces, they are often displayed on the shop floor. This can expose them to unintentional wear and tear. In instances where this wear and tear is greater than normal, we will note it with Floor Model in the description. In general, if an item is indicated as a floor model it may have cosmetic scratches, stains and scuffs.
TRADING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before ordering.
Ordering is simple. Select items that you want to purchase by adding to your shopping cart at checkout you will be clearly advised if any other costs apply. If you want to proceed with the purchase, fill in accurate delivery and payment information and your purchase will be lodged with us. Impulse Imports reserves the right to refuse an order for any reason at any time. If we do, we will refund you by full using the payment method provided.
The cost of freight is calculated during the "Checkout" step in the shopping cart. This cost is an ESTIMATE ONLY and may be adjusted after the transaction has been reviewed by one of our staff members. Freight on small items is nominal, however for large items that cannot go by standard post, freight is expensive. We try our best to include an accurate freight estimate at the time of purchase, however please do keep in mind that other factors can affect the cost of freight including but not limited to: many stairs on delivery premises, rural address, inability to assist with offload and more. In cases where the additional cost of freight is too high for us to pay, we will advise the customer, who will pay ONLY the different between the initial quoted freight and what we have paid to the freight company.
Once your goods have left our warehouse, freight charges are finalised and no further payment should be needed. If a freight company asks for payment at time of delivery please contact us immediately.
Delivery time depend on many factors. Since we use professional furniture movers, the items are handled with the utmost care. This does however mean it can be slower than ordinary freight. Deliveries to the South Island typically take between 7 and 10 business days. The North Island is usually between 10 and 20 business days. They will call you to arrange a delivery time the day before the item arrives.
Damage in Transport
Inspect all goods immediately upon receipt. In the rare event that an item was damaged in transit, please take note (photos / videos) of the damage immediately and make a note to the delivery driver. Contact us as soon as possible as claims need to be filed within 48 hours of receipt.
Oversize and Heavy Items
Oversize items will generally require your assistance to offload. Our delivery is contracted "To the Property Only" and while our delivery drivers may help you bring items inside they are not obliged to take it beyond your front door, nor are they liable for any damages to the inside of your house or the product if they decide to help you further. Please ensure you have adequate assistance on the day of offload.
All retail prices listed include all taxes and GST. Prices listed are in $NZD, and applicable to residents of New Zealand only. At this time we do not freight goods outside of New Zealand due to the high cost and possibility of damage.
Trade and Wholesale Pricing
Trade and wholesale pricing is available to repeat customers who are purchasing a high volume of goods from Impulse Imports Ltd. for business purposes. All trade and wholesale pricing is +GST. If you are interested in becoming a trade member, please contact us.
Out of Stock
Since we sell many one-of-a-kind items, you may see an item that is out of stock on our website. Please contact us and we will see if we have a similar item on hand. In the event that you purchase a product online that is out of stock in store, Impulse Imports reserves the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
Should goods arrive damaged, or have a fault, you must contact us within 48 hours of receipt of goods. It is imperative you inspect your purchase on arrival. We may offer you several remedies, including, but not limited to, replacement of goods, a partial refund or a full refund if the goods are returned to us. In order to speed settlement of claim we may ask for additional information, more detail and a photo of the damage. Note: returned goods will not be accepted, unless prior notification and arrangements have been made with us. Please have your invoice number available if phoning or quote it clearly if emailing.
Orders can be cancelled up to 24 hours before dispatch. If you would like to cancel please contact us immediately. An order can be cancelled for a full refund. Orders cannot be canceled on the day of dispatch or after the item has been sent.
Impulse Imports Ltd. endeavours to describe any items with accuracy, however cannot take liability for any errors that may exist. We try our best to be accurate with any information relayed. We reserve the right to correct any errors, modify, alter and amend information at any time at our sole discretion, including these Terms of Services. No notification is required to the customer of these changes.
Use and Copyright
As the acceptance of these Terms and Conditions constitutes a legal contract, you must be of age to enter into such a contract and must give true, accurate information when using the website. You must not tamper or hinder the operation of the website, knowingly transmit any viruses or other disabling feature to the site. All information and imagery and content of the site is copyright of Impulse Imports and may not be copied, transferred, uploaded or distributed in any way or format , without written authorisation.
Impulse Imports takes privacy seriously. We may collect and store basic information that will enable us to recontact you as a previous or potential new customer and add you to our database to be sent offers and marketing material. You can unsubscribe, at any time, by using the link at the bottom of all mail outs.
Title of Goods Transfer
Impulse Imports is the sole owner of the goods until your order has been confirmed by one of our staff members. At that time, the title of your goods transfers ownership. Pick up items are stored on your behalf. Any freight is arranged on on your behalf. We do not take responsibility for any damages after a sale is made, including damages in transit or in store or our warehouse. Please contact the freight company to arrange insurance.

Your use of this website (including the purchase of any goods from the website) is conditional upon your acceptance and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. Impulse Imports does not make any reparations or warranties, of any kind whatsoever, the company, its employees, directors, associates or suppliers are not liable for any loss or any situation arising from use of this site. These terms and Conditions constitute a legal agreement, if you do not agree with any of these terms and Conditions please do not use this site.
